PoopBagmanufactures this product in the US from renewable resources like corn. It is 100% biodegradable and decomposes as fast as an apple in normal soil conditions (more specifically, it decomposes according to ASTM D6400 standards). Unlike similar products, these bags are stronger and thicker in order to make sure the bag does not rip.

So why put your dog’s poop in the a plastic bag that will sit in a landfill for hundreds of years when you can put in a PoopBag that biodegrades in a few months? Well possibly because you are not going to compost it anyways and it will sit in a landfill unable to decompose. Therefore, you should check out this information on composting. Certain cities have composting programs such as San Francisco, which is another option.

Holstee made a youtube video about the bags:

PoopBags are available in various quantities on their website, for example 100 bags can be bought for $20. Lastly, the packaging the product ships in is also biodegradable.

Other companies provide similar bags for trash and other uses, check out BioBags.
